ABOUT THE SUMMIT

Building on What We Won

In 2025, Maryland became the fifth state to repeal its HIV criminalization law. That victory did not happen in isolation. It was the result of years of coalition building, advocacy, and community organizing. Pathway to Progress exists to sustain that work.

This summit brings together public health leaders, advocates, clinicians, and community members to confront the barriers to equitable health outcomes for LGBTQ+ Marylanders. We are not here to celebrate a finish line. We are here to map the next mile.

Summit Focus Areas

What We Are Addressing

Testing, treatment, PrEP access, and the ongoing fight to close gaps in HIV care for LGBTQ+ communities.

State-level strategy, legislative wins, and what comes next for public health policy in Maryland and beyond.

Centering lived experience, honoring long-term survivors, and building the next generation of advocates.

Addressing the systems that perpetuate disparities in housing, mental health, and access to affirming care.
