Whether you're navigating eviction proceedings, unsafe living conditions, or retaliation from a landlord, we’re here to provide you with the legal services you need!
Shelter And Transitional Housing Referrals
For LGBTQ+ individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability, it can be hard to locate a shelter that is welcoming and respects your identity. Through our Resource Navigation program, FreeState Justice helps connect people with LGBTQ-affirming shelters and transitional housing programs across Maryland.
Housing Discrimination Advocacy
LGBTQ+ people are protected under fair housing laws, but they still face discrimination at alarming high rates. If you’ve been denied housing, are being harassed by a landlord, are being treated unfairly because of your identity, or any other issue FreeState Justice is here to help. We offer legal advocacy and support to challenge housing discrimination and make sure your rights are protected!

Systemic barriers not only make LGBTQ+ communities vulnerable to homelessness but make it harder for them to access resources that affirm their identity when experiencing homelessness.
