EQUALITY MARYLAND

Equality Maryland’s primary focus was advocating for marginalized communities at a legislative level, achieving multiple policy wins to make Maryland one of the most inclusive states in the country for LGBTQ + people. Not only was it responsible for passing numerous vital pieces of legislation like the Anti-Discrimination Act and the Fairness for All Marylanders Act, in 2012 they were part of the coalition to pass the Civil Marriage Protection Act, making Maryland the first state to pass marriage equality by popular vote!
